QUANTUM COMPUTERS (THE FUTURE OF COMPUTERS)

Tech Toys Hacks: Quantum computers are a revolutionary technology that have the potential to solve problems that are currently unsolvable by the classical computers. Quantum computers uses quantum bits or qubits unlike the classical computers which uses the binary digits (bits) to represent data.

One of the key properties of qubits is that it uses superposition, meaning it can exists in all possible states simultaneously. Which makes quantum computers exponentially faster than the classical computers.

Another key property of qubits is entanglement. Which means the qubits are connected in such a way that the state of one qubit is depends upon the state of the other qubit. This allow quantum computers performs certain types of calculations which is impossible for classical computers.

Quantum computers have been proposed as a solution to many complex problems in the field of chemistry, cyptography, finance and machine learning. However these are still in the research stage, and it is unclear when they will be practical for everyday use.

GOOGLE'S QUANTUM COMPUTER: Google's quantum computer, known as Sycamore, was announced in 2019 as the first quantum computer to achieve "Quantum Supremacy". This means that it was able to perform a specific calculation (sampling from a random quantum circuit) faster than any classical computer could. The calculation in question took Sycamore 200 seconds to complete, while the best classical computer estimate was that it would take 10,000 years to do the same calculations.

Sycamore is a type of quantum computer known as a superconducting qubit computer, which uses superconducting circuits to control the state of individual qubits. The specific architecture of Sycamore uses 54 qubits, arranged in a 2D grid. The qubits are connected to each other via microwave pulses, allowing for the creation of arbitrary quantum states and the execution of quantum gates.

Google's achievement of quantum supremacy is considered a significant milestone in the field of quantum computing, as it demonstrated the potential of quantum computers to perform calculations that are currently impossible for classical computers. However, it's important to note that Sycamore is still a relatively small quantum computer and it is not yet capable of solving practical, real-world problems. Google, as well as other companies and research institutions are continuing to develop larger, more powerful quantum computers that will be able to solve these problems.

This is a broad overview of quantum computers and there is still lot more to explore and research about quantum computers.
